CPD Activities for Progression

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a professionally recognised term for improving, updating and developing skills, knowledge and experience relevant to your professional work.

As a Renewable Energy professional, keeping up to date with the latest developments in Renewable Energy and Technology is crucial to advancing your career and contributing to this dynamic industry.

The European Energy Centre (EEC) has developed a Renewable Energy Professional CPD Framework to allow you to improve your own CPD skills and knowledge in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

You might already be able to count some of the activities that you are doing towards your CPD and Membership progression – keep reading to find out more!

As a Member of the EnergyCPD Membership Programme, you will need to keep a record of your CPD activities so that you can submit these to the Membership Committee every year for review (each piece of evidence should include your name and the duration of the activity in hours). In order to progress to Full Membership or Mastership Status, you will need to demonstrate that you have completed at least 30 hours of CPD activities in one year.

There are many ways in which you can show your progression in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency; including private research and study, completing training courses or attending conferences or energy events.

Here is a list of activities that you can do to add to your CPD:

We are able to provide some of the CPD Activities for progression through the European Energy Centre, which you will be able to carry out as part of the Programme.

Achieve the internationally recognised Galileo Master Certificate (GMC) by completing a wide range of Renewable Energy courses held at major universities and taught by university lecturers, professors and experts with many years of experience. The EEC-ECT's Renewable Energy training courses enable you to enhance and develop skills and knowledge within various sectors of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

European and international conferences are regularly organised by the EEC with the United Nations Environment Programme, universities and associations.  Attending these conferences offer the opportunity to network, keep up to date with the latest technological developments and meet key players in the industry. Please note that this category only allows you to claim up to 10 hours of CPD per year.
